Thanks for the advice Dave. user added image I will see what I can do to make the character not "blend in" as much into the background. In the meantime, I have started on another character of a person in my class. I know she is really dark, but she is supposed to be standing in front of a door at night that is lighting her from behind. The next step will be the beginning of the background scene with the door to the building. C & C is always welcome! user added image

UPDATE: I finally began the painting of the background where she is standing in front of the building. The next step will be to shade the background and such. Comments and Crits are always welcome though! user added image

UPDATE: And finally...the background is shaded!!! user added image This may be the finished piece for the second artwork, unless any of you have any crits or comments as to what I can do to improve it even more. ;-)

Here is another idea....I added some of the light rays streaming over her legs and arms....which of the two do you all like better?
