Like i said it was just a quick subdiconvert. I hadnt combined the feet yet. Ill get to that tomorrow. I can only spend a couple of hours a day on it. So it might take me a while to get it done.

Are you sticking with game specs or will it be hi-rez?

I will do both if I can. When I create a model it starts out lo rez till I go subdi to add the final touches. Since we are going for this and next gen systems I can have upwards of around 4-5 thousand polys for game character with normal mapping also. I will try to create both. One will be cinematic quality and the other will be in game for like the Xbox 360.

More Updates

I felt like spending another hour with this guy.

Still finishing up on shaping. I added the shoulder pads.
That looked better. And I started on the shape of his head.
If you look closer you can see that it is still rough. Ive got to start taking breaks so that I can show my progress better.
Tomorrow or today whichever it is since it is so late, I will finish up the head and work on his gun for a break.

Hit me with any questions if you got em.

Also just to mention to those who have asked. Im still only
at 2200 polys, and I havent even cleaned it up yet.

He will start to get more detailed as I go. Once I get my cintiq Ill be able to work on his textures and his detail will really start looking next gen.

I was just wondering if you are going to change this model more at all because it is looking quite similar to the 3D Earth Worm Jim.

Its a nice model though.

First off, I didnt even know there was a earthworm jim 3d.

Second My guy is way different in outfit design.

Like I said I am designing him for like Xbox 360 version.

His chest is 3 different things. I designed it that he had this thermal wear type things and then his Chest plate was like a football players armor with a jet back on the sides.

My concept clearly shows what I have intended for this character.

A lot more detail will be shown when the texture is applied.

You say it looks a lot like the 3d jim, i disagree. He has this suspender thing going on with his belt I thought that was completley stupid so I changed his holster to be more han solo like.

Also if you look at the 2d image of jim i first posted you can clearly see that I stuck with the proportions that the original creators had imagined.

One more thing check out his boots in the original 2d he didnt have any and in the 3d he doesnt have any other. I thought that was definitley something he needed.

There is more to come...

I have made conceptual modifications to his gun and I am currently working on a vehicle for him. As far as I know he never had one.

Also still working on concepts for this helmet suggestion I received from t1ck.

Does it look quite similar to the other one maybe only in the face because IT STILL HAS TO LOOK LIKE HIM. Suit wise no it doesnt look quite similar.

Thank you for the compliment though.

Stay tuned to this thread. There is a lot instore for this character you just havent seen it all yet.

See ya later...

In response to jramauri

Thanks for the comments!!! Much Appreciated!!!!

As for the amount of time I have spent on this model it has been a little under 3 hours total.

1st night I worked on it I spent 1 hour.

2nd night I worked 1 and did another hour later or something like that.

Between my job and school and working on my application for internship it doesnt leave me much time for anything else. Plus Im married, so that has to account for something.

Thanks again jramauri and everyone else for all your support and good luck to you as well!!!!
