I see what you're talking about. I was thinking you was going to use that whole creased area as the actualy playing screen.

That Game boy was the only handheld game system I ever had and I loved it to death. The crease looks right. There is no crease around the screen. I personally am looking forward to it being textured.

What do you intend to do with it after that. Maybe make a game to project on the screen in a little animation or something like that. :p

Good stuff thought

A little update:

The pattern on the cross
The speaker... and DAMN that was hard work!

I've run into aproblem though, can't manage to carve out the cross into the circle so that the cricle remains circular...hm...

You already know I'm no pro at this, but what if you split the surface of the circle with 8 lines - two horizontal and two vertical to create the cross, then two more horizontal & two more vertical near the edges of the circle.

You should end up with a split up circle with a cross in the middle. Then just extrude the face inwards?

the circle is already 8-sided. The hard thing is to get the cross in the middle and also have a bevel to it.

What if you deleted the edges, then split the polygon where i've drawn the black lines.

Then delete the edges where I've highlighted.

Any good?

it's the wrong circle, it's where the gamepad is.. but I think I've solved it, let me try some more and I'll upload a new pic.

I managed to get the circle/cross decent, it's not perfect but I'll have to do.

Also extruded it, still some work to do to get rid of some lumpiness.

Damn, tedious work to get all those small rivets in. Did some more anyways, and a render.

I'm pretty much done with the top now. The only things left are the sides that misses some button and things. A problem though is that the only reference pics I have on the sides are teeny weeny, so I'll I have to guess a little.

The dots in the highlites are rendering artifacts and not because of bad geometry...
