Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

I have been a little concerned about that edge myself, I think I will have to go back and soften it out.

I've made a little more progress now with some brakes, yay!

Cheers for the pointers, there are loads of reference pics for the veyron 16/4 and they all differ slightly. On one of the main ref pics that I am using there is a crease by the door and none by the front of the rear wheel arch, there is also a fin in the front intake which I have yet to put on and it is missing the vent on the rear of the front wheel.

I have put a crease on the bonnet and the roof but it is not showing on my renders, hopefully when I put a reflective shader on it it will become more prominent (or even just a bit prominent!!).

I completely missed the ridge around the bottom (D'oh!), I'll get round to that soon.

If you spot anything else please tell me,

Cheers,

Mat.

you have to stick to one model, if you are making it the picture you posted then you don't need that vent behind the front wheel.
the model i posted has that fender vent, but the one you have been using for reference doesn't
unless your making a custom model or version then its all good

I'm pretty much taking the bits that I like from all of the reference pictures that I have. The design has changed loads over the last few years, so why not change it a bit more!

Lots of differences between the two but the one thing that stands out to me is the actual height of the front of your car, its higher than the reference pic making it look very bulky instead of sleek. And the wings/Fenders are too sharp. Nice work otherwise

Hello Jay,

I know what you mean about the front of my model looking too high and chunky. I have softened the edges of the front wings and the wheel arches and that has helped a little but it still looks chunkier than the real thing.

I think it all boils down to my choice of blueprint, I know a good workman should never blame his tools but hey!

Cheers,

Mat.

Hello there and a happy new year to you all!

Here's a quick progress report, I've put the fin and grill in the bumper intake and Made a start on the headlights. It's into the rear lights and badges once I've finished the front ones.

take it easy,

Mat.

Hello folks,

I've pretty much finished the model now so I have started to colour it in. I do still have to make the wing mirrors but that's no biggy!

Any comments appreciated.

Cheers,

Mat.
