This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Sorry had to post the image then get in the shower for work.
Okay first off, I am glad I got the colors to change...I changed the diffuse color and lightened the specular to get it to work. I think it looks great, but I would really like to get some bumps on there. I havent tried, but does anyone know if you can add a bump map to a dgs_material? Or even like a UV mapped bump so I can get some randomness, not just the whole piece covered in bumpy. I will mess with that later.
Second, I just did the hair thing for fun, wanted to mess with it a little. But how do I get hair to just come out of certain faces? I tried a bunch of ideas to no avail last night. This was my final result, just scaling it down and placing it on there...it looks like crap, but I just wanted to see how it would render. Any fur web tutorials would be great, it was my first attempt at anything.
be careful wen riggin him as ull need to do a lot of painting weights in its currernt position - well i did wen i made the one from the book in that pose
That is another question I have...what is the difference between binding a skeleton to the model, IKs/FIKs, and rigging...Its three different tutorials, just not sure what the difference is between them all.
