you can see it is not positioned properly so i went to the texture corordinates and rotated the texture -90 made a few repeats, but the problem was i hadn't made enough grass

you can see here that the grass is a bit sparse

i went to a 'two' layout and painted more to my texture i made earlier and could watch it up-date as i did it, of course i had to resave the texture when i finished putting more grass but it is still the same texture, the same name, ect

i moved the over hang of the cliff back so it looked more in place and made the ground paintable, i then painted sone grass and stuff (this was all very quick this morning before i go to uni in 1 hour now )

the grass hides the seam off the cliff and the ground

then i put some more smaller grass on the ground and put in a few trees. and thats it until i continue soon with animating without keying and making the trees or vines or whatever it is i feel like doing later when i get back from uni

until then this is what i got

yea, i know, this was just for an example, the textures can be made in paint effects and they will tile properly if you click on the tiling button next to the camera and get brush, the ones that were not tiles were just some mud image i used that hadn't been off-set in photo shop. I was in a hurry, it is just for those who want to make a quick scene and maybe don't know how. Of course there are much better WIPs here than mine if Yuh want aesthetics.

this is how i made the grass for the overhang on the cliff

Anyway, i thought i would add something before i go on i think is really great, and that is updating textures as one goes. and so here is the first image

first i go and create a new image

then i went to 'saved layouts' and got 'two panels side by side' and made a nurbs sphere in the perspective.

the big red arrow pionts to the button you must click if you want to watch the paint update as you go.

the little arrow is the tiling button (young lion) that is how you will make saemless textures

the hypershade (to state the obvious as some often do here, young lion) to grab a Lambert and a file node, connect them by dragging the file node on top of the Lambert and choose colour from the context menu

if you are in texture mode (number 6 and not number 5 on the keyboard) when you drop the Lambert on to the sphere it will disappear immediately, but it is still there, it is just transparent.
