you guessed it, i puled the it UP to be level with the top hull like this

so i got this 'valve' floating around the top of my engine so i have to fix that

i pulled up yje options for 'surface fillet' and made sure that it created a curve on surface (the top box is checked)

pressed 'fillet' and woooo, a little too much, you can see in the channel box i set it to .2

both of those values in the chanel box are set to .2 to get this, much better

i created a nurbs circle, rotated it 90 degrees in both X and Y and went to the vertices level, with my finger on the X key I grid snapped the corners of the circle (16 sections in the channel box) into this position

i selectd the curve then the suface and went projecte the curve onto the suface (edit nurbs/ project curve on surface)

I deleted the curves I didn't want and went to the nurbs trim tool

for some reason the screen shot wont pick up what happened, when I clicked the trim tool onto the surface the surface went to a white wire frame and then you click again on the surface you want to keep and a yellow marker is put there (on the part of the surface to be kept.

by the same process of projection and trim i created some holes (vents) one went through the seam but i'll get to that.

i right clicked and chose 'trimmed surface' and then selected the hole, i went to edit nurbs/ duplicate cuves on surface and moved the duplicated curve back a bit, selected both the curve on surface and the duplicated curve and went 'loft
