Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

And here's a render with materials. There are a lot of issues but they don't show up until you look at this huuuuge 1600x3200 render

The black metal have a too repetitive bump.
There is a white border around the overlay for the screen
The red wood is looking fake because it's too perfect, no dents, scratches etc.
A sticker is missing above the coin door

The donkey kong textures isn't really that highres and is bad quality jpeg, so I'll have to resurrect them manually to be able to do largers rendrers. I'll already did some work on them but it needs more.

it's already looking pretty effective though. do you plan to have the screen turned on with the game playing?

Yeah I was thinking if doing a version when the screen and the marquee is glowing in a darker environment. Have to take a deeper look into Maxwells emitters though, not sure how to do that yet.

Fiddled with the black metal some and added a "insert coin"-sticker.

like the guy said before, the buttons could do with flattening a little but other than that and the things you have mentioned it is looking great

As you can see in this reference the buttons are pretty high.

First - I ain't a "guy", why else would a guy have "Lady" in his name. LOL!

The buttons are MUCH better! In the first picture, it looks just slightly too high, but now with all the graphics, and shortening the buttons looks much better than it did.

Great job! Keep it up...maybe you can do PONG next. :-)

hehe, thats me being a bit lazy and not checking out the name - well pulled up LadySekhmet
In the world of t'internet you'd be surprised how many people banter around male and female names and most definitely aren't user added image

they still look too high to me user added image
the comparison is really good though as it shows how well you've got the textures and lighting working

Looks great. How in the world were you able to find these textures? These are really old school.
