Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

the thicker legs do look much better. It looks like the top section of your model is bigger than the reference/real model but it might just be the angle of the render.

I think the lighting should die off a little but since your trying to emphisize the mic i guess it wouldnt hurt.
