Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

I think prizes are always a good incentive for a challenge, so maybe some points for/or a download of choice or something. But as Jsprogg says its the experience that will count in the end.

Challenge wise I would say model from concept, yeah the stuff would look the same but its how its been done technically and optimally that would be the difference in each model. So plenty of wire frames on show, texture development and a final render to show the model off, not necessarily to look photoreal but from a presentation point of view. Plus a little advice from us older dudes in the industry to help out as well.

Oh and no dudes who work in the vfx/games industries are allowed to participate. Not that we'd necessarily win anyway...

Just some thoughts to chew on

Nows the time to start your own business. From what I have seen from your work, you would do fantastic.

I'd rather not disallow anyone from the industry to enter if they want. Part of the fun is seeing what those guys make. user added image Plus, it'd be kind of tough to really enforce that kind of rule. I don't know what 99% of you do for a living as it is.

I suppose I can get a challenge started, but for now, no prizes.
