This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
Mate I cant do any of it in my own eyes...but hey I give it a crack even if I know and complain I cant do it...gives dave something to do in his spare time too....
You will do fine.....I found when I texture in PS (havent done it in Maya yet) I have the UV map...get my colours from real images with the dropper...and spray/paint my own little colour pallete in the corner. That way you dont have to keep trying to get the colours matched...just a tip

"A Darkness at Sethanon", a book I aspire to model some of the charcters and scenes
I would love to take it into Z-brush if I had it. Some of the detail and you can do in there looks amazin. Not sure my PC would handle it though to be fair as its getting on a bit now. Might get a new one in the New year. In the meantime, i might keep this pup low to medium poly, but without a poly limit.
Now I have to remember how to UV lol its been a while...
Looking very good for low poly Speedy, he's looking all in proportion and has a nice shape to him so far, I like it!
It's a shame you don't have Zbrush to do some extra detailing, but I'm sure you'll do a good job anyhow.
Bullet: I hadnt thought of downloading the trial thanks for that. but can anyone confirm, Do you render in z-brush and if so, does the trial leave watermarks over the image?
I might have a play with it a bit later on but not sure if i will use it yet for this competition as I do have a pretty useless Pc at the moment so not sure it will handle it. lol.
Modelling is almost finished on the dog but I wanted to have a quick render test of the UV mapping I did. Its only a quick rush job for now, as I wanted to see if I could remember how to UV, as its been a while and havent UV mapped for ages and it was never my strongest point.
I know he isnt looking very zombiefied yet, I just wanted to get the dog side look to him first, then totally F**k him up with the T-virus later That should be Fun.
I hadnt had much to show recently, as I was workin on the texture for the dog as a zombie. It was alot harder and time consuming and I wasnt happy with what I had done so after a few weeks, here is my side texture for my zombie dog. I build it up in layers, bones, flesh and fur.
