I was planning to do it in 2d but since I started learning Maya... I think 3d is the way to go. why is 3d better than 2d? well its one more "D"

it is the same way with the women's boobs... how about a cup of 95 DD... user added image

great looking model... user added image

I know you said it is for a children book... and with fantasy everything is possible... but have you e.g. thought of it if should work in reallife...

e.g. how to keep the hot air in the balloon when it travel throu the vacuum of the universe...

I don't know if is would look stupid but how about some thing of almost invincible/transparent protection shield around it?

Starup- lol mmmm 95DD. what a way to go, death by double d's.

also, I like your suggestion about a force field around it, it could be like one of those hazy sheild effects in startrek. thanks!

Thanks Mike! Hows your CGTalk challenge going? Have you had time to start modeling yet? I loved your concept.

here is another update- map stand added, sand bags and Landing gear thingy too. took me while to figure out how to adjust the Nurbs tessalation... me am not too bright. I should have just looked in the manual.... but nnnnoooo... I had to try all the options. duh.
