Looks great! Kinda reminds me on Battlezone 2 scions pilot model (but I bet nobody here know for that game).

We're not going to be strict about it, but in most cases, it's 1 or 2 512x512s.

Mike, could I also do a hi poly one for fmv's and stuff while doing the low poly game model which will be the one that is judge at the end.

I'd suggest working a bit more on the textures. RIght now, you've pretty much just got straight colors for most everything. Instead of just having it be red or yellow, try to make it look like metal, cloth, etc.

maybe bake some generic lighting on to the texture.

i like the guy but the armor looks a little thin... by thin it looks like it has no depth at all. might want to fix that

And the armor doesnt look like armor, ide suggest you tweak your textures a little more.
