Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I might suggest a little more color, very subtle, but there, to simulate the color showing through the skin. For example, you can see the red of blood through translucent human skin, blue veins, etc. Very subtle, like I said. user added image

You can kinda see where I tried something like that in the example I posted in the rules thread.

Maybe a little more.

Oh, have you tried reversing the bump map, so the splotches are raised?

Yeah go the veins! That will really top the little critter off! Oh yeah! See if you can sneak a smiley face into the texture too. Doing stuff like that gives me a real kick ha ha!
OOOOO I know! With all those cool dots you could slip in a mickey mouse!! Ha ha! I have enclosed an example!

Anyway! Looking forward to the face!!!

Looks like a guy I went to school with :-)

Very cool so far. With bump reversed, you might want to blur the edges of the splotch shapes a little so they don't pop out so suddenly. Keep it up.
