Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

I believe those are stitches, not teeth.

The work looks pretty good so far. I can't wait to see it textured, and the completed version.

okay, I'm having some serious problems to pose this guy (the bear) If I build a joint setup and bind it there's always some problem with the stomach and shoulder areas, where the wrong joint affect the wrong places, If I try to move the vertices or something like that well, that's out of the question... I'd have to move about 30k vertices... i've tried lattices but they don't give me the right look either, god I hate rigging... is there anyone out there who can help me ?,

found what I needed... set membership tool FTW!!

Sounds like you're using rigid binding on your skeleton. Try using Smooth binding and use the edit smooth skins brush tool to make sure that the shoulder bones move just the shoulder instead of the stomach etc, as well as smooth out some of the binding. You basicaly paint on the surface in 3d. I believe the Maya help files include a whole bunch of tutorials regarding this very helpful tool. Good luck!

This is starting to take a nice shape.I see you have a slight
light bounce behind the bear.If I may suggest a slight fill light
in his shadow.

I'm starting to get pretty annoyed, for the past few hours I've been trying both my way, with a ridgid bind and what RY3BREAD said about a smooth bind but none of them works good enough, I'm always encountering problems, this sucks user added image

oh well, guess I'll have to find another way to do it or just keep at what I'm trying now until I either loose my mind or get it to work...
