So they decided to change the title, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that they are pretty much changing everything about the characters we grew up with. Splinter taught the turtles Ninjutsu in which he learned from mimicing his owner before he even changed. So how are they supposed to learn this ancient art? Did someone from their alien race visit ancient japan and learn it and bring it back to their home planet? Jesus ****ing christ, just because you febreezed the room doesn't mean that there still isn't that steaming pile of shit still sitting on the floor /endrant

Dude, seriously calm down or I'll Close the thread. Its a movie, not life a life and death situ.

As you can see they have an original writer on board so I guess they can and will do what they want with it. It cant be argued with.

I'm pretty sure they clarified somewhere that it's the ooze that came from an alien world, and the turtles aren't really aliens, but I don't care enough to find the link.

apologies for the ranting, the point I was trying to make is that they're telling us to "calm down, and chill" but they haven't given us anything of substance to calm us down. I for one am all for artistic licensing, but there is a certain point you can take that to before it is no longer what you are calling it. This is my, and everyone else problem. If you alienate (no pun intended) the people who have grown up with this you are putting a very high risk that you are going to end up loosing half your audience, and there for half of your earnings. And stwert the ooze was alien in origin to begin with. there is only 1 article i've read so far that has given me any glimmer of hope which is this one here.

https://www.ifc.com/fix/2012/03/teena...than-liebesman

another article i found they quoted Laird with saying

“I would actually encourage TMNT fans to swallow the ‘chill pill’ Mr. Bay recently suggested they take, and wait and see what might come out of this seemingly ill-conceived plan,” Laird said. “It’s possible that with enough truly creative brainpower applied to this idea, it might actually work. I’m not saying it’s probable, or even somewhat likely… but it is possible.”

Alien ooze... what the Heck? Well that changes everything dag-bernet! lol, May Scotty and Bones rol over in their graves, and Davy Crocket died for our sins.......

It's just a movie folks, and I don't see this project doing nearly as well as the Bayformers did no matter how it's done. The turtle franchise is just not as popular.

I liked The Rock!

Nicolas Cage: Do they always do that?

Shawn Conery: What the leg twitching thing?

Cage: Yeah, can you do something about it? It's messing with my concentration.

Conery: Like What? Kill him again!

From the scene where he drops the air conditioning unit on the bad guy and only his twitching legs are sticking out from the thing buried half a foot into the concrete! My friend and I rate great movie kills and that one was as close to a ten as you get.

Now if only more production companies would pull the plug on crappy scripts.

Just imagine how unbelievably awful it must have been for them to actually ditch it. (Take as your reference the quite remarkably bad scripts that have made it to the big screen)

Perhaps Di$ney's "John Carter of Mars" and Univer$als "Battleship" had something to do with their decision. Those 2 movies bombed pretty hard at the box office.

I wished they had done that for Prometheus.
CG aside, a new script would have probably taken it far much better.

Did Battleship and JCM bomb hard?

Havent seen battleship to comment, but having JCM I didnt have a prob with it as a film, its good, not superb and midblowing but its certainly a good watchable film. I think Disney admitted two weeks after its release they had messed up with the marketing campaign and claimed they lost money, but then miraculously it hadnt, it made its money back and then some within two weeks of Disneys statement, unless that was their marketing ploy LOL.

Yeah its about time somebody got ruthless enough and just said' no, its shit, next!!' Everything is just a bloody cash cow with no love at the moment

anyway.....
