This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Another thing, how do I apply different maps to the head and the rest of the body?

create the materials, map the textures to them, and assign them to the objects or individual faces you want.

Body unwrapped, head to go, and maybe some tweaking of the body UV's if I'm up to it... That'll have to wait till tomorrow though... C&C?

yeah, you should be able to just delete those faces on the bottom.

I think the model has turned out pretty good, so let's see if the textures can finish the job... Did a little quick color layout, still need to unwrap the head though...

And don't worry, I'm pretty sure the skirt won't be purple when it's finished! user added image
