mmoore if you look at the lambo, you see how by the borders there are ALOT of close edges. Thats also how Dilbert does it and alot of real good modeler do it. Its excellent because as I said earlier, when you do a poly smooth, it makes shapr edges so that if you want to edit it later, you can go to your poly smooth and set the itterations to 0 where as going to subD and doing partial creases and full creases, when you convert the subD to poly using adaptive, you will end up with alot more polys and you want as few as possible so when editing it, you have a better chance of keeping your mesh very smooth. Greate technique and I mean its tough to understand but thats why under the lamo I said I like the chamfer if 3ds max because it handles making close edges very good but it takes practice. If I showed you my folder where the eclipse rest, you will see I have about 14 files because im still learning so I make alot of istakes so I always make extras so I can test and see the results I get so My advice to you is just try out different techniques.

Ok one last update for the night. Like I said, im not going for the most accuracy because this is a basic max class and im not applying a poly smooth because it has to be a 3000 frame animation and I really dont want to wait for render time if I do a turbo smooth, it will probably take 2 days so ill go without the smooth and leave it at low poly's

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!! alright so I created some rims in max because I like the chamfer tool. I exported it as a obj and then imported it into my maya scene. Ok the rims are in my scene but they are FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR away from everything else. How can I get the rims back to the screne because when I try to get the camera to view all, they are so far apart that you cant see anything. I need helppppp!!!!

select the camera and in the attribute editor set the far plane to something really high.

Ok so I now im supposed to be finishing my final but you know what, screw max lol I dont really want to finish so I decided to get myself motivated again, ill work on the eclipse. Heres a back shot, I got some in but I still need alot more details. Im no where near finished with the spoiler because Im going to make it as detailed as possible. Im going to add the screws, nuts, boltz etc...... which as you can see isnt added, its just to poly boxes curved with poly boxed holding up the others so no details but hopefully by Saturday seeing that my last day for the semester is Friday. Well ill keep yall posted

Yea I plan on texturing it right after im done adding all the details. Right now, this car doesnt have enough details for me so im going to work on the smaller things and then when im finished(hopefully by the end of next week), ill texture it.

Thanks for your comment
