Have not had a lot of time today to do much more, yes a bump map on the rust and were the paint has come of if done right will bring it to life, I must admit that if you know what effect you need you can find most for free on the net, Once I have finish this I promise to do a tutorial then I can get back to my tank still looking for a good scale ref for the M151 weapons system......LOL

no that was a query I was going to post...in Maya I assume you mean (daisy chain bumps). I have 2 that I wasnt to assign to the main texture...but failed.

I am starting a photoshop tips folder, so I can start collecting this stuff and start trying to learn it. Going to play around with some stuff and yes keeping the can hanging about as a practice piece is a good idea.

Sorry for not doing much, grandsons birthday. OK the metal on the hand was done with a scatter brush on a masked layer then a Filter/distort/ocean rippale............dave
I looked at this on my brothers monitor and realized the green gun on my monitor is failing. On my machine the green looks like a dark forest green. On my brothers system its more an light olive drab.
Funny thing is I like the darker color.
Not so funny thing is I now realize I am l going to have to replace this monitor and that is something I cannot afford right now. Oh joy!
