c&c plz

im starting to work on the shaders now an im a little stuck
i want the windows to have a dark tint an to behave like glass ie if u look at 90 deg to it u can see inside but the +/-90 the more reflective it becomes

i think i need a sampler info node but im not sure how to use it

1 wiuld i use a blinn or asth for the intial material

2 do connect the si into the refelctivity or transparancy

if ne of u guys knows some free tuts on this plz post up them or ur advice

c&C welcome

thx

pbman

The front mesh grill is definately on the right track but the individual pieces need to be much thinner. Also, don't forget to check your tangency between halves. I have modeled some cars for weeks only to figure out that I forgot to check this and ended up started over.

Nice reflections. The scene is a little dark but is shaping up nicely. Also, you may want to try adding a speckle effect to the paint shader like dilberts' image on the link below:

https://forum.simplymaya.com/showthre...5&pagenumber=3

A 3d rock outAlpha dropped onto a blinn's specularRollOff, combined with another transparent blinn with a tight highlight. Combined meaning drop them both into a layered shader.

pbman, check your pm also.

hey thx for the crits

the front grill was a temp as i was too lazy to make it
i have found tinytools that lets u do multi extrude so i will remake it but thinner

tangency
i admit at first i did nit take this into consideration so i tested it a week ago an sawsome probs - hopefuly with the hist on some of the parts they will be an easy fix but there was one i think thatneeded changin
- nothing too majour now though

i will look into this paint set up u have suggested

thx
