Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Hey man, looks good, I'd drop the background as the model is not completed as yet (more details in Z, colour, bump spec, etc) so it looks out of place at the moment.

Once youve got this animate are you going to try and composite it into a real video background etc?? Be good practice on rendering in different passes an compositing them.

Also if you do a video you can get your teeth in to maya live for the camera tracking, etc.

Looking forward to how you go about animating this beast, especially with all the muscles that you've added.

Yeah I guess the end game is to put him in a real scene. I just put a temporary background in go give the model some context so I could judge it in a natural environment. But I still have a lot of work to do. After I lay out UV/s I'll be moving into zBrush.

Thanks, Ill be starting the texture soon. Then I'll bring it back to maya as displacement maps and color maps.

Nice job...I'm liking that skin so much, I feel like killing it and making a couch out of it, lol!
