Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
Here´s my final flower model.
Texturing will be taken care of later.
Lighting and Rendering will be taken care of tomorrow. -May 11th-<-- |**EDIT** LOL! I SUCK. :p| (Last day by the way, Brian)
-As a personal note, I want to say I hate flowers as of this moment, got my whole room full of frigging ants because of the flowers I picked up for reference- :mingun:
you said it was the last day?? I am sorry I am really confused. According to the clock on the top of the page, (right above where you vote) it says that there are still 3 days left in the competition is this wrong? if it is... oops... I have been packing all weekend. I am finnaly moving out of my parrents house!! Hmm... so we post are final images on the 12th, correct?
"May 12th it is.
I´ll make up the thread.
I´ll post May 14th to allow for two days of voting. So, we need to have a final image posted on Monday, may 12th right? or, does that mean that We are posting the final image on May 14th?"
Today (sunday) is May 11. I get confused easily. Hey! Your flower looks great!!!Thats amazing. It looks like you have been really busy. i need to post an udate for you guys later on today. I have all of the pedals textured and modeled. How did you do the inside? Thanks,
Brian
Final Images should be presented May´s 12th Midnight.
(use your midnight if you have trouble adjusting)
The vote clock is adjusted to allow for the two days of voting. May 13th and 14th. I think it´s like that.
that is what I thought about the time, just making sure, I have a tendency to get messed up on time and I don't realise it till the last sec, so I thought I would ask with a little more advanced warning. lol.
hmmm... the inside? i was just talking about the pollen and stuff.. Trying to get a SSS shader to work to for translucency, but I haven't had any realistic results yet... I went out and bought a bunch of flowers almost two weeks ago now, and believe it or not they are still alive! They still look very healthy, so I am going to take some more pics for my final shot. I think I am going to tear a flower off of a stem and then composite my 3d one on the steam with out the flower. that sound ok? The problem is that all of the real ones are going to be surrounding it. Hehe... That might be hard to pull off, if I can't make it match the real ones... How do you think you are going to do your final image?
Thanks!
B
I was thinking of pulling something similar.
I don´t want to model the leaves and all.
Got enough with the petals.
As per the pollen, it was really a matter of patience.
Lot´s of it.
Retouched them a while ago -they look more random now- although quite truthfully I´m more into texturing at the moment. Having some trouble mapping those petals.
Hehehe these two days will be good.
Good luck bud.
Who is it that didnt read the rules and voted (sigh), Im deleting those 2 votes as of now. as its not even the 12th here.. and I will be only allowing votes after both final renders are in.. or whenever the clock strikes midnight my time .
"I should call you sugar maple tree cause i'd totally tap that" haha
Texturing is almost done now.
Still have 2 petals to go. Spend the whole weekend playing soccer with pals, I will work non-stop during my birthday now, pull a render out before midnight.
still needs a ton of work... but here is the latest, one or two more pedals left, haven't decided yet. I have been working with
Emmanuel Campin [pixho@pixho.com] to try and get his Sub suff illum shader to work with 4.5, but its still haveing problems. well, not his script actually, but just something to do with Maya... Grr... I will post more updates. Let me know what you think! Some of the pedals still look "flat" thought that I would deal with that when get closer to finnishing. THanks,
Brian
