Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Low poly character

Just started on this tonight......
I hate his boots so far and I'm not sure why I'm getting the black around the top of his boots

Looks like a good start.

The black is caused by normals. If softening them doesn't help, try doing so at a lower threshold.

You Great Refs. Can you post them so some of us less talented can use them? Im not that good with a pencil user added image

really cool so far, but (this is only my opinion) i think the nose might be a little large for such an angular face. However, i agree with peltra, since my refs never turn out that well, are you planning on posting the refs anywhere we could download them from? And if not, would you?

to fix the boot rims, select all the edges related to the boots then go to edit polygons/normal/softenharden normal then make those edges all hard
