Hi there, in Max i used to have a sound that played when my render was done, so I could be away from the computer while it rendered, and come back when i heard it.
Is there a way to set one in Maya?
for single frame as well as batch render?
if so, how?
nope... I don't know with the new Maya 6, but with maya 5 and below it is not posible from within Maya to render it out with sound as fra as I know... you would then properly have to make an plugin that does this...
as I recall you have two options to render out with Maya frame by frame or as an Avi file... and even with the Avi file I don't recall you get sound with it, only with playblasts...
at the moment I'm not aware of a image file format which is capable of holding singleframe sound and image together...
however if you have the sound and the rendered images you can easily combind them in e.g. VirtualDub... --> https://www.virtualdub.org
it is free, however you would have to render your frames out in BMP format...
commercial programs as premiere and others can work with other image file sequences... but I have heard some rumors that VirtualDub soon sould support TGA sequenses aswell...
