Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
i've seen the specialist about my wrist & the bad news is that it's now f*cked!
So it's over to my right hand for mousework, which is not the way i wanted to go about getting into Maya. Fortunately i can write with my right hand but the transition with the mouse isn't going so well
I'm left-handed but have always moused with the right, play the guitar right-handed, drums, didn't have a chance with the piano I swing a bat left-handed and cast a pole left-handed, best of both worls I guess.
You'll get used to it, gonna feel awkward as hell for a while, but eventually it will feel "normal" to you Good luck!
Darkon
Red bellows of flame have blackened my stones
Convulsing my frame and cracking my bones
Hell's dragons of steel who roar in their chains
Crawl into my caves to suck out my veins.....
There are a bunch of exercises that you should do, and the one thing to remember is NEVER STRETCH. When doing hand exercises go to the point where it's about to stretch then hold it an wait for the muscle to relax.
"Conquering Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" by -Butler is good.
Also as kevin suggested, get a tablet. I use a trackball mouse and it works great. It's less stress on the hand cause there is no wrist movement. Also make sure you are typing correctly and sitting up right.
