Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Bad News

Bad news guys. My computer went haywire when I was adding my other harddrive and i lost everylast project I have ever made in maya. So now I have to restart on everything I was working on for my reel. Has this ever happened to you all?

Look for a data recovery specialist in your area... if they can get info off of drives burnt in fires, they can probably salvage most if not all your files.

Nah, that's ok. We don't have those specialists anyways.

it has happened me 3 times... complete death of HDD... I only miss it when i get nostalgic and wish i could see projects, writtings or photos i did then... now i always keep two partitions one with the software and the other with the content and backup the last to DVD regularly... just remeber... just one dvd is NOT enough, you must put the same thing into two separate DVDs...

About the reel: now you can do a new one whith what you learnt doing the frist, it hasnt to be long, just put your best tricks on it...

Yea. See the whole reason of me putting in the second harddrive was so I could backup all my stuff since I don't have a burner. Lol. The irony of it all.

That happened to me not too long ago, about a month ago. I was working on this monster, spent soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much time on it and it dissappeared. i went into a state of depression and gave up on maya til now. I hadn't been to this site for quite awhile coz of that. I wanted to curse the world! haha
been getting into premier during the time, but I think im about ready to get back into maya. And the data recover program only works if you dont reformat your computer. When you reformat, most of the data gets wiped out and u can only retrieve some files. The moment you save stuff on the hard drive, the back up files get over written. So if your hard drive ever crashes....DONT i say DONT do anything to it, swap it and then extract the data right away. I didntknow about this til after i had fry's do it for me. They only got my useless porn and video files! So when i reformatted, i looked into the other hard drive and it wasnt there!! Stupid! So a friend recommended me the data recover programs and i used it, it didnt scan my projects. So the end of my sad sad story. user added image

And....now I know the true purpose of partitioning.
