Hi, guys. The Hydrolock was not coming along very well, so I thought I'd give it a rest for now and go on to another project. This female head. I've still got a ton of tweaking to do, not to mention the ears and inside of the mouth, but I thought I'd post what I have.
Was about 4 hours of modeling, with another hour of mapping UVs. I've spent about 2 hours on a texture, but it still sucks at the moment. ;P I'm not the best texture painter in the world.
I've got a 2 Ghz, and 1 Gig of Ram, so I'm doing ok with it. Once I had everything done and settled, and if I were going to use this in an animation or something, I'd more than likely go with Sub-Ds.
Nice looking model man. Hey I have a question, I'm modelling a female character as well.. I'm actually saving the head for last. But here's my situation, she's made of polygons.. would you suggest it'd be easier to to extrude the breast line. Or make the breasts seperate objects and just attach their vertices. I'm actually using the "Joan of Arc" tutorial for the evil 3dsmax program. Well parts of it. I just want to know an easier way to model her if there is one.
Complete newbie here Mike, but wouldn't it be better for the model to place a few spheres under the eyebrow areas and then add a sparce fur description to it?
I know it's a WIP, and knowing from your very informative tutorials, by the time you're done, you'll probably even have a particle effect to model dandruff hahaha.
Model looks terrific, hope you'll post a tut of how you did it on the site!
