This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

After Effects is good for making your rendered frames from Maya into movie format like avi's, but I'm not entirely sure if you can stick audio files in with it... anyone else know?

I know Adobe Premiere can do the same thing, and match music with your video.

I remember mtmckinley talking about a great free little program that i think was called VideoMach. I takes your pics lets you choose frame rate and size then creates almost any video format you want.

VirtualDub is a decent free video editing program. Pretty easy to track down via web searches.
