Mental Ray Problem

Hi, I'm new here.
I've done a "cartoon dog model" from video tut.
And i was trying to rendrer it with Mental Ray (GI and Final Gather)
When its Polygons its render fine but when I convert this model to Subdiv its rendering witout my dog model ?!?!?! And with that info " Error: (Mayatomr.Geometry) : polyToSubdShape1, non-quadrilateral face in subdivision surface base mesh not supported, ignored "
WHY ????
Does anybody know how to solve that problem. THX

because you need to have all your polys as four sided quads to be able to use maya subdivs with MR it sucks but it's just the way it is. You will need to change your mesh to remove all n sided and 3 sided polys.
