Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

I recommend you sew a few of the seams together before you do anything else..

To take a wireframe snapshot of your UV layout, do the following..
From inside the UV texture editor window, select all the UVs the goto the bottom of the first menu and select UV snapshot. Dont forget to select a filename, the output size (ie 512 x 512) and the format you want ( ie TGA or TIFF) Before you hit enter.

This will save the UV layout in a format that can be opened in photoshop for you to create the texture you require. As I said previously though, I would sew some of your seams together first though, as It will make it a lot easier for you to join up the textures..

You are just using one colour at the moment. You will be ok if you stick with the one colour.. However, If you put a pattern on the pieces and then look at it on the model, you will see that the pattern does not line up correctly. To get around this you must sew some of the parts together.

You should search the net for tutorials on UV layout or purchase the one here (in 3 parts)

That will help you

(i know its not a unrealed forum but its ok if you dont know ),

one last thing ,my texture is quite ugly otherwise its pretty nice under photoshop ,it is because MAYA P.L.E. ?? reduce the render and the texture ,how i get better texture looking on the perspective view ??
