Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

slow marking menus

its a small problem, but ive been working on this subway car interior scene and now when i select some of the objects in the scene and hold the right mouse button down to bring up the menu to select a different mode it takes at least four mississippi for the menu to finally show up.

any suggestions? ive tried openeing the scene on a different computer and i tried resetting the maya preferences

even creating new objects in the scene seems to take a few seconds for the menu to show up, like if i create a stock poly cube.

ive tried saving under a new scene name, and if i start a new scene its quick fast but this scene ive been working on is lagged

Sounds like you're just pushing your scene file to you computer's memory limits. Try setting up layers an placing objects you aren't actively modelling onto invisible layers. This should free up some of the scene computational woes. Hope that helps.
