Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Nurb difficulty

For my FLA class(Fundamental of Logo Animation)...I have to make a 10 second animated logo...and I'm trying to make this sphere...that opens up(to activate inorder to burn the logo image into an enviroment)...

the only problem...is that we have to use Nurbs...and I honestly cannot figure out how to make this properly...

So I was wondering...what would be the best way to make something like this:

I am hoping not to use curves and lofting...but I can try to figure that out if I have to....or would it be better with a map????

Thanks

***sorry for the bad sketch...I just did it 10 seconds ago***

when it's dormant...it would look like a normal sphere...but then it opens up where the creases are....and the cylinders go down into the body...

sooo...the grey sections in the drawing...would pop out away from the body

if that makes sense user added image

...I wish we were using poly's user added image
