Hi there all,
I am not really getting this mapping thing. I am having troubles tring to fit an object that I have broken up into 8 planes with-in the 0-1 image range. I have tried to scale them down as much as possible but I can't seem to fit everything. In addition I also saw that you could change the image range to a bigger range but after I snapshot the uv's, do my texturing work in Photoshop, and bring the image back to Maya, the image gets tiled even though the repeat UV's settings are set to 1. However I have seen tutorials show examples that even have up to 20 planes. So for the dear life of me I am asking you guys for your help. Is it posible that I could bump up the image range without having the image to tile when I import it back to Maya?
i do this for multi UV characters ,
grab your UVs
and do polyEditUV -u 0 -v-1
where -u and -v can hav values like 1 and 1 or 2 and 0 this will fit them in different 0-1 quadrands, you can have how many quadrants u want. but im not sure if there iis some sort of restriction to that, i've have at most character in 5 different UV space.
