Oh btw, do you think it would be fair if I used some 3ds max for some modeling or UVing, or do you think I should stick entirely to Maya and Photoshop for textures.
No you cant do displacement. That adds polygons. YOu can only do bump. Displacement changes the actual model to whatever, but bump only shifts the texture.
Mmm... I see. I would post a sketch of mine, and I will. Also, I will post a first WIP of my head. My mesh is erally secrewed up around the head, and when I smooth it comes out like crap. Anyway, I decided that I will just be using a bump map. Here is the head
