Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

A-V-A (a tom delonge side project)

I need a way to make the symbol chrome like, I know there are some chrome shaders out there, but is that the best way to go? Just hoping for some help. Thanks in advance.

If you use mental ray just use a dgs material and then up the shine on it then render using IBL

Ok, sorry for taking so long to reply. As if you thought I would get this right the first time. Pshhh. Anyways, I tried that enviroment node thing. But I end up with these weird tiles, how do I get rid of them?

Sorry for such a bland question, just let me know if its too vague and I will post some screens and go more in depth.

Ok, thanks guys for all the help. I know this is really late. But, still. Thanks. Ive messed around with it from time to time know and have come up with this sig. Any good? The lyrics are from one of their songs. Its really meant for a A-V-A fansite forum, so, I doubt I will put it up here. Just a little photshopping.

Touched up version.

PS. By the way, I want to say, I used the built in nebula for this. It was a preset on the 3d fluids tab. No credit taken for me for that. All maya baby.
