Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
after I extrude the bottom face of the head, to make the torso shape, the instructor indicates that you have to press the "G" key to seperate the shoulders, chest... What is this shortcut for? Repeat? I've tried doing it but I don't get the correct results. Do I need to have something activated? When I try to widen the torso, I get tapered sections. This is usually around the time I kick my computer.
the day we stop thinking is the day we start sinking
the G key actually repeats the last function performed.. even the selection of an object is a function... make sure you have not done any function except the move, rotate and resize functions.. should work
From a readers' Q and A column in TV GUIDE: "If we get involved in a nuclear war, would the electromagnetic pulses from exploding bombs damage my videotapes?"
nah everyhting u guys do is helpfull but when i try to model it im getting weird faces appearing from nowhere..eg on the bottom of the feet and when i try changing the chest etc it comes out like a circle..im confused..
i tried again from scratch doing the exact same thing as the instructer and this time when i tried to extrude the torso i got some weird looking shapes..(and i have the keep faces togtehr tool selected)
haha im such an idiot..i was trying to rotate stuff before i selected the extrude command 2nd time round..first time i think it stuffed up because i turned the keep faces togeter off half way (i did that becuase i thought it was effecting my modeling but turns out i must have accidntly had another face selected )
