Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

House Factory (working title)

Hi,

its been a while since i posted a new thread, this is a strange but cool w.i.p. Its based on one of a series of drawings my dad has done where houses who are kinda living (arms and legs) build these worlds full of houses in a factory and this is part of the series where the world is launched into space using this balloon type thing (pic 13 shows the balloon) its based on a flat 2d drawing and has been replicated as close as possible, i hope to be able to show you the original pic as soon as i can...and there is a long way to go.....

Superb man, damm fine concept, give your old man a pat on the back for that idea.

Great modeling, hope you get it textured and animated(lots of rigid bodies and constraints I would guess to get that going!!

one more thing. this would truly be amazing if it can transform into something. like changing between a house to the factory

gosh your still not done i'd call this a decent finished project.

Blimey!! cant believe all the feedback ive had from this, and all positive!! thanks so much! there must be some crits out there though somewhere? lol...thanks everyone, i am plannin on texturing this when its finished, the majority of the modelling is done but theres some work to do yet on the world-holding balloon thing and lots of little bits which might be at first unnoticable such as a few belts and ropes to link all the cogs and gears up. (not to mention the world itself which is basically a sphere crammed with lil houses). great idea 13th resident but i think i would have to adjust everything to much to get it to work, it would be nice to animate it and will one day but at the moment a frame render of the whole structure is taking over 2 hours!! anyway keep an eye for more updates this week! cheersuser added image
