Yamaha Roadstar Continued

I decided to finish off this project. When I modeled it for the realism competition, I was limited by my PC performance, so now I'm going to go back and get it the way I want it. I changed most of the textures today, and I'm going to re-model the tires with some treads, and put the finishing touches on, like the logo.

Hey Dil,

Could you post your lighting setup and render settings for that render?

Cheers

Here's the drive-train side with an overexposed type render, and a little reflection.

concorddawned, my PC is tied up rendering with Maya right now, so I can't post a picture. It's the same set-up that I've used for just about every other "studio" render I've done, and I've explained it before in other threads. (I think I posted a screen capture in my "Segway" model thread). Also, just giving you the lighting set-up will do nothing for you, unless you're using the exact same shading networks that I use. My shaders are extremely dependant on reflections (even the "matte" shaders have a little reflectivity) so the lighting is half the picture. I would recommend just continually refining your own set-up, that's what I did.

not bad but can you post larger renders so that i can see the detail of this model.
EDIT: can you post a link to the studio setup in your segway model?

I'm rendering some close-up shots as we speak. I'm not going to do high res rendering until I'm happy with the shaders and lighting.

Here's the link. (the search button works user added image )

All I did diferently was to enlarge the overhead plane, and replace the 2 side area lights with 4 directional lights to pick up highlights. Then just mess with the HSV values on the plane, and the environment.

I didn't use layers for this. My computer handled the render just fine. I did do some optimizing on the tesselation (e.g. the wheel spokes have low quality tesselation as they are not really seen), but other than that, I haven't had a crash with this scene yet. It took about 56 minutes to render the high res version.
