Low poly game character

ok so i lost my last file so i started a new one. i want to keep this character to a max of im thinking 6000 polies. im not sure whats the proper amount for a game character. im asuming between 4-7 so ill go with 6k but if its lower please let me know. I want the face to be under 600 without hair and 650 with the hair. well please crit.

ok I did some more work tonight. The face needs a little bit more refinement but I talked to vlad and he said for a game like doom its about 1100 tris for the face so im right on time. Right now, i have 1082 tris. anways C7C are always welcomed

only thing i think i would worry about with your model is the fact that the polys you've got already seem to keep in fashion with the grid... i would stick with the flow of the head's contour instead of the flow of the grid to ensure that your base model is more easily followed in case you need to provide more detail in certain areas around the cranium (like veins, random bulges, implants, etc)...

which ones are you talking about cause i followed to flow of the eyes, mouth which are in circular motion and then connected those to the nose. which other flows are u talking about. this model is for a game so those details will be from maps since the flow has to be under a certain count. ohhh yea i was looking at alot of low poly models. check out xcloud.net this dudes character was in 3d world and hes quite good. he has less polys in the face but kinda went with the same flow. hmmm can u draw how it should be but dont add extra rows because im at 1098 tris and my limit is 1100. haha or iff u do tell me which ones i should delete so i can get a batter idea. thanks

WOOOOOOOOOW lol its been along time since ive been on SM. My mother board went wrong so I had to ship my comp back to alienware and wait around 2 weeks without nothing to do. Well I did get soem catching up on FF12 lol but anywasy i finished the head and im happy with the result.

This is going to be my main character, i have an enemy comming next and all drawings for them. Anyways I do want to thank vlad for the help. He looked at my file and told me what I could do without and where to add more polies to. Well his main suggestions was to take alot off the face and add mroe to the ears, nose and eyes so i dont have to rely on textures so I did so and my poly count is a bit higher but ill susbstitute that with the hair. i going for 1600 for the whole face and right now without the hair im at 1300 which is 200 more then i had but that 200 can be taken out of the hair since the style im giong for can actually take only about 200 -300k probablly even less.

Ok I started the Body. Right now the body is going to be very low poly since this dudes going to have alot of armor and extra crap. im currently at 1910 which mean i have 590 - 1090 to do the body and 3k - 3.5k to do everything else for a total of 6k.

lol I know. I never thought i would model one of those lol nosir just joking but thanks for the comment. My wire frame pic got messed up and im just to lazy to open up maya and photoshop so wire will be either tomorrow or christmas after my daughter leaves
