This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
hello
I`m quite new to maya and my question is as follows:I´m working on a logo.
I want to make a rotating sphere with lightrays attached. around the sphere there should be two arrows rotating . I made the sphere and several spotlights. i added fog to the spotlights to make their lightrays visible. my problem now is: when the arrows(which shall rotate around the whole thing) pass the "lightrays", these shine through them. what i want is, that the light at this point goes only "to" these arrows, but doesn't shine through. does anyone have an idea how i can do this? help appreciated.
Try making the lights cast shadows, You have a choice of Depthmap or Raytrace shadows with spotlights. Depending on your system it may be worth mentioning that depthmap shadows are much quicker to render.
