Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

transformers

hey did u guys see the trailer for it yet?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZp75fWe-ss

i dont think ive seen cgi done that well in a long time I mean come on, giant transformable robots?? can you image the amount of detail and model coordination they must of put on those bots?? Its like how do you manage to make this huge model with hundreds of tiny pieces move together to go form a bot to a car or something. anyways lookn at that trailer I got that cg goosebumps I rarely get so I recommend a look. let me know what u guys think.

Yeah, I've seen the trailer too. Now that I'm learning 3D, I no longer look at CG movies the same. I was thinking along the same lines as you. It's amazing what can be done these days. Some real talent out there.

Curses, I was hoping this topic would not slither it's way here to the Simplymaya forums.

Although the CG work is well done, it's an insult to the classic designs. The box office predictions for Bays TF are allready placing it kinda low in top 10 summer movies for this year. I'm seeing many people predicting a 5th to 7th place finnish for the summer, bringing in or around 200 milion domestic. Thats puts it in a decent but not great catagory. The great ones are pulling in over 300 million domestic.

I give Bays TF a big thumbs down simply because it could have been visualised ALOT better, and Bays movies have virtually no story.

This is just my opinion of course.

Well, your opinion sucks concidering its all prejudgemental?>..LoL
Nah, i have high hopes for it, was a huge transformers fan as a kid. Bays fimles are some times hit and miss, but when they hit they hit hard. But, a movie doesnt have to be as Deep as Count o Monte Christo to have a decnt plot.. I mean, come on.. Scary movie's, Epic movie.. hit pretty decent and had no plot what so ever...
