Compositing question...

Hey All,

I'm very new to this game so please forgive me if this question is so "newbie" that it's insulting...I'm working though a tutorial book with different projects in it and the first project uses particles. One of the particles will show up fine using software rendering but the other requires hardware rendering. I have rendered the scene twice, once using hardware rendering and once using software rendering but I have no clue how to put them together to create the final animation with both particles showing up. Does anyone know where I can find some tutorials on how to do this using Adobe After Effects? My OCD requires I do this before moving on to the next project in the book :-) Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

you don't need a tutorial for that. since ae is layer based and your images should have an integrated alpha channel just layer them. images in ae and then its like photoshop.
