Poly Smooth Help

Hi, im modeling a head, this is my first head, how do i make half of the head smooth, and the other unsmoothed, so i can work on the unsmoothed site and see the result on the duplicated site.

oooh im sure its possible just dont remember how to do it user added image
mayb you could duplicate it with input connections, smooth one half? not sure, sorry

just use smooth proxy located under polygons-->smooth proxy

its a great tool i use it alot
