Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Star Trek Runabout SHuttle

Hey all, while I have been doing bits of my dragon texturing it is a long process for me as I have never textured before, so to keep from going mad I thought I would start a new model project, being a fan of Star Trek I decide to do a Runabout Shuttle.

The basic modelling is finished, I just have to clean up the mesh, get rid of some T edges, get some nice curves on them corners, then a final clean up and then themodel will be ready for texturing. I'm hoping it will be alot easier than my dragon

Regards

Just an update

Just thought I would post an update to my shuttle, I've given the corners a nice curve now. It is ready for texturing, but I have decided to seperate the door from the hull and model the door frame and just inside the door as I will hopefully be using this model in final composite with myself or a friend stepping out of it. I need to practice abit with coverting from poly's to Sub D's and back again though as on some areas the hull appears faceted where it is supposed to be smooth.

Texturing

Thanks peeps, I'll start laying out the UV's tonight, I have given myself a deadline of about a week, should be alot easier than my dragon, lol. I have to redo the UV's on that, AGAIN.

Hi Wraithe! Did you ever texture this thing? I like Star Trek and thought it be really cool to see your model textured.

No Textures

Hi Perefecto, in all honesty, no I haven't finished texturing the shuttle. Over the last few months while attempting to texture all my models I have found I'm not to keen on texturing. So, although I still texture a little at a time, I am trying to concentrate on what I love, modelling.

If there is anyone out there that loves texturing and can texture the shuttle before I do then you are quite welcome:attn: That way I can just build build build.

Regards

Mick
