Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Transfering UV maps

Hi all,

for the model I've been making, I have changed the topology from how it was when I UV'd it. The modified version does not have the same UVs (I had to delete and mirror due to an error).

Now, I can't transfer the UVs from one to the other. I know you can do this on a modified mesh as it's a technique I've seen used to UV difficult objects (modify the topology a copy to be more uv friendly, UV that, then transfer).

I've tried local, world, UV and component space in the transfer attributes options. I've tried it with the two objects overlapping and side by side. Although sometimes the names of the maps appear in the uv editor for the new objects, the actual maps do not.

Anyone able to help?

thanks,

gubar
