Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Making a fur texture

I have been working with maya for nearly a month now and I am currently making an anteater. i have got the basic shape, but i dont know how to go about making a fur texture and putting it on the model. When ever i put a texture on it, it ends up really streched and distorted.
Thanks in advance

Press F1 on your keyboard and search in the tutorials for UV mapping.
In order to place any kind of texture on a polygon object you first have to map the UV's so they are layed out flat into the 0 - 1 space of the UV Texture Editor. This also includes Fur or Hair if you have it although you might get away with automatic mapping for the latter two if you do not plan on doing anything too complicated but best to manually map it.
