How to create cloud-like text effect?

Hi, im trying to create text that has a cloud like appearance, and it would be nice if it could be animated to move and disperse. I found this tutorial- https://library.creativecow.net/artic...cow_clouds.php but it is for 3ds max. Is there a way of achieving the same effect in maya? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you could create the text in 3d using nurbs or polys and then make the letters containers and fill them with fluids and animate 'em

how do you do that? i have no idea. i never bothered to learn fluids. oops.

Thanks for the advice, I ended up creating the text and emitting Cloud particles from it, this produced a nice effect whilst keeping the specific font still recognisable.
