suggestions?

hello all,

I'm opening my conundrum up to suggestions... unfortunately i'm not sure if i can post screenshots or not.

its basically a model divided into one section, I have worked one section which i will duplicate into 24. As each section is a duplicate, they have the same UV set and material.

my plan was to use Body Paint 3D to alter the texture a little on each duplicate and paint out any seams. the problem i have is that i have 24 objects and so 24 materials. which will -i assume- slow my computer (and any other) down to an unbearable crawl.

any suggestions on how to get around this, other than combining the model and UVing it as one. (i want to avoid doing that at this stage as i have a feeling i will be told to change it at some point.)

without any visuals its difficult to explain i guess... sorry

dom.

...(after typing this out, something came to mind so i'm gonna give it a whirl)
