Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

If so, would this result in SLI becoming useful for Maya? TBH, I don't really know much about GPU computing.

In a word yes.

I'm coding some stuff using Cuda at the moment and looking into seeing if I can ge it going with anything in Maya.

TBH using the hardware in the PC, I.E GFX cards would make a big decrease in rendering times, if implemented right, as there is a limitation the the GFX processors instruction set.

awesome news! I have a pair of nvidia 2gb gtx 285 ftw and a 9800 gt as a physics engine.

But I have only put one of the 2gb gtx 285 ftw's in my system because I did not want to waste wattage if they are not actually doing anything useful.

I'd love to actually be able to take advantage of them.
