This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

MP40 machine gun

Not realy done any hard edge modeling in maya or a gun so let me know how I am doing. Used a lot of booleans......dave

Be very cautious with booleans
I also see that you have found the " 3" button on your keyboard when it comes to hard surface modeling i would advise to keep that at a minimum as well.

i made a load of guns about this time last year ,i found they were quite fun to model. this is looking cool. be good to see how it comes along .u finish your skeleton soldier?

I know boolean can be a problem but I am cleaning up the mesh as I go

I hope to do a short animation at some time using the skeletal soldier with this gun may be leading on to some thing bigger but It is time to do it, I wish I could just sit at the computer for a day or week...........dave
